Future of Sustainable Lifestyles, Industry 4.0, and the Circular Economy

31 May 2016, 11:30 - 21:00
Wuppertal, Germany

The Collaborating Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP) will bring together over 250 decision makers from politics, business, civil society and academia to discuss eco-innovations and the latest trends on sustainable lifestyles and circular economy, highlighting opportunities in food, textile, finance, ICT and cities. The one-day event will be in the form of an 'unconference', which is driven by participants and avoids many presentations and top-down organisation.

The event will kick off with a welcome and expert panel before lunch, after which participants will go to different workshops to learn more about topics such as the circular economy, reducing food waste, and the role of cities in promoting and enabling sustainability. At the conference dinner, there will be an opportunity to explore the life-cycle of a pair of jeans.

Prominent figures from the Club of Rome, the French Government, and the German Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia will be present at the expert panel to give their views. However, the focus of the event is on networking and the sharing of ideas and experiences between participants.
