European Public Procurement Conference 2016

The European Public Procurement Conference 2016 will take place in London the 12 – 13 of October 2016. This annual conference aims to keep up to date with the latest changes, including analysis on New Models for Procurement Law in light of the unprecedented landscape post Brexit.
The Conference aims to share and learn from the implementation experiences, as well as the successes and challenges of key European jurisdictions. Throughout workshop sessions, case studies and discussion groups, case law at a national and ECJ level as well as gaining practical advice and critical insights from leading experts on major issues will be analysed, such as; evaluating tenders, remedies, exclusions, light-touch regime and others.

Procura+ Seminar 2016
Connect, exchange and act on sustainable and innovation procurement
13 - 14 October 2016, 9:00 - 4:30p
ICLEI in cooperation with the Forum CompraVerde-BuyGreen conference have announced the 2016 Procura+ Seminar, which will take place 14 October 2016 in Rome, Italy. The full-day seminar is organised together with the SPP Regions and GPPbest project consortia.
The Procura+ series of seminars provide an opportunity for face-to-face exchange amongst purchasers from all levels of government and procurement stakeholders. The 2016 Seminar will explore how working together in networks – from regional to European level – can increase capacity and support implementation of sustainable and innovation procurement. The programme will include keynote presentations, workshops and interactive sessions aimed at building and strengthening existing networks.
The Procura+ Participants and Strategic Partners meeting will take place on the afternoon of 13 October, the day before the Procura+ Seminar. All are welcome to attend, get involved and receive a flavour of the activities the Procura+ Network has to offer.

CleanMed Creating Healthy Environment

CleanMed Europe is the only European conference on sustainability within the healthcare sector. The conference addresses the environmental impact of the healthcare sector on a local, regional and global level. This is organised by Health Care Without Harm Europe and will be held at UN City, Copenhagen from 19th-21st of October.

Human Rights and Sustainable Procurement Webinar

The "Human Rights and Sustainable Procurement: Emerging good practices and lessons learned" webinar, taking place on the 19 October at 2:00 – 3:30pm CEST, will be hosted by the United Nations Environment Economy Division and co-organized with ICLEI and the Danish Institute for Human Rights. The webinar takes place in the framework of the Sustainable Public Procurement Programme of the 10-Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns.
The 10YFP SPP programme is a global platform that supports the implementation of SPP around the world. It brings together a variety of stakeholders, building synergies & leveraging resources to progress towards its two major goals of building the case for SPP and supporting SPP implementation on the ground.
The objectives of this webinar are to:
Highlight human rights as material risks affecting public supply chains for goods such as electronics, apparel, food, and services such as healthcare and security
Introduce participants to new standards, guidance, and tools on human rights and public procurement
Identify emerging good practices and lessons learned from recent practitioner experiences of integrating human rights safeguards

European Forum on Eco innovation
Financing SME Eco-innovation
26 - 28 October 2016, 9:00 - 18:00
The 20th European Forum on Eco-innovation will be held in Tallinn, Estonia, on 26-28 October 2016.The Forum will examine financing opportunities for eco-innovative SMEs and will showcase successful companies who have succeeded in attracting investors and growing their business. It will explore the enabling factors and challenges of transitioning to a circular business model and will address these through the lens of business, finance and public sector.
The Forum will also provide an opportunity for participants from across Europe to:
- participate in a business-to-business matchmaking session
- learn about the innovative technologies with performance claims verified by the Environmental Technology Verification (ETV)
- find out about successful eco-innovative projects funded under different EU funding programmes and financial instruments
- take part in site visits to eco-innovative companies who have successfully turned investments into circular business models
This event is jointly organised by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Environment and the Ministry of the Environment of the Republic of Estonia. The Forum will be accompanied by a special event: the Ceremony of the European Business Awards for the Environment.
