PPI4Waste Meet the Market Event

Plastics in Belgium
24 March 2016, 13:30 - 18:30
Brussels, Belgium

This free event is organised in the framework of the PPI4Waste project and aims to give the opportunity of a dialogue between Belgian public procurers and suppliers in the field of plastic waste management. The objective is to improve the market knowledge of contracting authorities and suppliers' understanding of public needs.

The event is in response to the European Commission's revised waste proposals from December 2015. They include increased recycling targets for packaging materials, including plastic packaging waste, which will reinforce the targets on municipal waste and improve the management of packaging waste in the commercial and industrial sectors.

At the event, participants will hear from the European Commission on the impact of the new EU package on circular economy on plastics, as well as participate in parallel workshops on the impact of innovation procurement on the collection and recycling of plastics under different conditions. The event will conclude with a feedback session and a networking drink. Attendance is free but registration is required, as places are limited.
