Achieving social and gender equality goals through public procurement

20 July 2021, 14:00 - 15:00

The European Association for Information on Local Development is hosting the AEIDL Talks with Valentina Caimi on “Achieving social and gender equality goals through public procurement". on 20 July, 2021 from 2pm to 3pm CET.

Not so many people know that public authorities, when they buy works, supplies or services from third parties through public procurement, can also pursue other policy goals, such as social inclusion, job integration for persons with a disadvantaged background or facing discrimination, and gender equality.

In this AEIDL Talks, Valentina Caimi, Head of Unit for Employment, Entrepreneurship and Inclusion at AEIDL, will illustrate the main phases of the procurement cycle and highlight the possibilities that public authorities have to use public procurement to achieve social and gender equality goals. Many examples will also be provided.
