WG4B Webinar

Dealing with Sustainability Claims in Public Procurement

As a part of the Sustainable Public Procurement Programme of the 10 YFP, this webinar will explore the importance of labelling for public procurers, and the tools available to help them navigate through the often confusing landscape of sustainability claims.

ISEAL will present its recent work on claims, including the 'Challenge the Label' campaign and how these could be applied to public procurement. It will also provide the opportunity to explore some of the synergies between the role of ecolabels and sustainability standards in public procurement and other areas of the 10 YFP.

This is an open webinar, organised through Working Group 4B of the Sustainable Public Procurement Programme in the 10YFP and co-convened by UNEP, ISEAL and the Global Ecolabelling Network.

Nachhaltige Beschaffung in Kommunen

Stuttgart, Germany

The government of Baden-Württemberg (Germany) is inviting procurers from local governments in the state to a free workshop in Stuttgart on 28 July 2015. More and more local governments are shaping their procurement procedures with EU environmental and social criteria in mind.

Participants at the workshop will find out more about the underlying legal framework and tips for implementation, as well as concrete examples for particular products such as foodstuffs, textiles, and paper. As well as presentations, there will be opportunity for discussion in roundtables as well as one-to-one interactions.

The event will be conducted in German, and is targeted at procurers from local governments in Baden-Württemberg, but welcomes participation from other interested actors. To register to the free event, send an email to birgit.bastian@lubw.bwl.de by 24 July 2015.

10 YFP SPP Webinar

30 July 2015

A webinar entitled "Promoting Ozone and Climate friendly refrigerants and air conditioning (R/AC) technologies through Sustainable Public Procurement" will take place on 30 July 2015. The webinar is hosted by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

The webinar aims to present the concept of sustainable public procurement, report on the outcomes of a March 2015 workshop in Seoul (South Korea) on public procurement of climate-friendly HFCs, share news of similar initiatives in the US, and discuss the possibilities of supporting countries with a standard and eco-labelling scheme for refrigerants.

The 10YFP SPP programme is a global platform that supports the implementation of SPP around the world. Informative webinars are organized in order to present the SPP activities of partners and to enhance cooperation and exchange of experience.

2nd European Forum For Public Procurement of Healthcare Innovation

The INSPIRE project is inviting public procurers and suppliers from across Europe to attend the 2nd European Forum For Public Procurement of Healthcare Innovation, which takes place within the framework of the project. The conference will take place in Paris (France) on 15 September 2015 and is free of charge.

Presentations and roundtable sessions will inform participants of the latest developments in public procurement of healthcare innovation, including legal tools, suppliers' expectations from procurers, EU financial instruments and funding, and engaging venture capitalism and investor interest.

Participants will also have the chance to network at breaks throughout the day and at a catered lunch. The morning session of the conference will be held in French and the afternoon session in English.

PROBIS Meet the Market

After gaining a broad participation to the Turin (Italy) Event, the PROBIS project is inviting Swedish and European suppliers and leading developers in ventilation and indoor climate to attend the second Meet the Market Event, which takes place in Gothenburg (Sweden) on 16 September 2015.

Participants at the event will get full information about PROBIS and the characteristics of the residential building object of the tender, located in Tjӓrna ӓngar in Borlӓnge Municipality. Furthermore, they will get involved in group sessions in which procurers will open a dialogue about the performance requirements.

3rd Meeting on Responsible Public Procurement

Réseau Grande Ouest is inviting French public procurers to the 3rd Meeting on Responsible Public Procurement, which will take place on 24 September 2015 in Lorient (France). The free conference will be devoted to recent legislation for socially responsible economic activity and development in France and its impact for procurers.

The conference will therefore examine the possibilities offered by the new law in structuring and developing a more socially-responsible economy through public demand. Two afternoon workshops will explore this theme in greater detail.

Webiner: UN initiative on sustainable procurement in the health sector

A webinar on 'Presenting the United Nations Initiative on Sustainable Procurement in the Health Sector', will take place on 28 September 2015. The webinar is hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme, Division of Technology, Industry and Economics, Cities and Lifestyles Unit and co-organized with the United Nations Development Programme, in the framework of the Sustainable Public Procurement Programme of the 10-Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production.

The objectives of the webinar are to present the United Nations initiative on sustainable procurement in the health sector and to showcase the work done on leveraging joint agencies' procurement volumes to positively influence the global health aid market and advance it towards sustainable health systems and green economies.

EURECA seminar

Public procurement of environmentally friendly, innovative ICT technologies and services
29 September 2015
Berlin, Germany

This non-commercial and vendor-neutral conference, aimed exclusively at public purchasers and IT experts from the public sector, will take place on September 29 2015 (09:00-17:00, with subsequent snacks & drinks) at the Hotel Alexander Plaza in Berlin (Germany). The event will be held in German and is free of charge.

The morning session will see a number of lectures on public procurement of green, innovative ICT technologies and services, while in the afternoon barriers and driving forces behind the procurement of innovative solutions will be discussed with participants. A particular focus will be placed on data centre hardware and services. The aim is to gain a common understanding of the requirements of public procurers, which will be used in developing the EURECA-assessment framework tool.

Austrian conference on sustainable & innovation procurement
