Consultation on GPP for Data Centres open

The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) is consulting interested stakeholders on the development of EU Green Public Procurement criteria for Data Centres. The criteria produced through this initiative will feed into the Commission's overarching GPP objective to have updated, clear and ambitious environmental criteria, based on a life-cycle approach and a scientific evidence base.

Interested stakeholders can include manufacturers, supply chain industry, consumer organizations, NGOs, procurers and others. Input is invited both on core criteria for contracting authorities addressing the primary environmental impact of public procurement across the member states, while comprehensive criteria will be developed to assist procurers to purchase the most environmentally sustainable products available.

Currently a "scope survey" questionnaire is available for comments until 10 April 2017 to stakeholders who register on the JRC website, where questionnaires and details of stakeholder meetings will be made available.

For more information and to register, visit the JRC GPP Data Centres website or contact the project team.
