First Onsite Block of PPE+ 2024 Training sucessfully completed

The first onsite block of the PPE+ Europe 2024 training programme has been carried out in the headquarters of BBG in Vienna, Austria. After attending the kick-off on the 4th of November, the participants embarked on a two weeks onsite training, participating in a total of twelve modules. These will be followed by online sessions in December and a second onsite block in Brussels happening in March.

The modules covered a variety of topics relevant to public procurement such as Stakeholder Management and Communication, delivered by Olof Molander and Uwe Flach. Trainees also participated in Module 7, where Alex Guglielmo from the Austrian Bundesministerium für Klimaschutz, Umwelt, Energie, Mobilität, Innovation & Technologie and Andrea Stossfellner from BBG digged deep into the sociopolitical objectives of public procurement.

Procurement of Innovative and Sustainable Solutions also had a place during the second week of the PPE+ 2024 programme. With high-level trainers from the IÖB Innovationsplattform, the Austrian Federal Railways Agency (ÖBB) and Circular & Fair ICT (CFIT), insightful sessions were delivered on how to maximise public procurement tools to promote innovative and green procurement.

The interactivity of the sessions allowed participants to share valuable insights and knowledge. The next modules of the training will take place online in December. The PPE+ strategic procurement training project is implemented by the Austrian Federal Procurement Agency BBG, ICLEI Europe and EY Romania, on behalf of the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA). It offers four comprehensive training programmes, designed to improve the administrative capacity of the staff with key procurement functions in European central purchasing. Participants are encouraged to stay connected through the PPE+ Community of Practice and LinkedIn page, where they can continue to share insights and stay informed about news and events about the training
