The City of Lorient has conducted the procurement of renewable electricity with high environmental value (HVE), as part of its certification under the European Energy Award. The tender covered an indicative consumption of 914 Mwh/year, representing about 7% of Lorient's total estimated electricity consumption.

In 2018 Gabrovo Municipality plans to purchase three new 12m electric buses, together with charging stations. It is estimated the contract will save a total of 1.38 tonnes CO2 emissions per year.
