The principal objectives of the joint procurement were to take the country’s first significant step towards creating demand for electric vehicles and to demonstrate the suitability and readiness of Sweden’s market to manufacturers. To date, over 200 vehicles have been purchased under the framework. Use of the electric vehicles in operation between January and June 2012 saved almost 7 tonnes of CO2.
