City of Copenhagen - OPPORTUNITIES FOR CONSOLIDATING DELIVERIES THROUGH PROCUREMENT
From beginning of the BuyZET project there has been interest within the organisation to look at the distribution of goods to gain financial savings besides having a positive environmental impact. To achieve savings in procurement contracts based on removing the responsibility for last mile distribution from the supplier, scale and volume is needed. And from that perspective consolidation is also interesting.

City of Copenhagen - ZERO EMISSION TRANSPORTATION FOR CRAFT AND FACILITY MANAGEMENT SERVICES
BuyZET Mapping has shown that procurement of craft (e.g. building, construction and maintenance) and facility management (e.g. cleaning, window cleaning, graffiti cleaning) services are responsible for around half of the transportation CO2-emissions in the service category in category 32. Since the nature of transportation in these categories is similar (typically using vans carrying some equipment), we assume it will be possible to address the issues regarding CO2-emissions related to the embedded transport in the same way for several of the sub-categories under craft and facility management services.

City of Rotterdam - Zero Emission Transport in Construction Material Procurement
A shared service department of the municipality dedicated to materials supplies coordinates the logistics in order to optimize load factors, e.g. through combining material requests from different projects in the city. The vast majority of construction materials are delivered on-site in trailers of 30-40 tonnes. From our CO2 transportation footprint analysis, it appeared that over 95% of total emissions caused by the transportation of purchased goods could be allocated to construction materials.
