A major obstacle to addressing environmental needs in public procurement is often a lack of availability of readily available, reliable, current and marketable product requirements or environmental criteria that can be used for award. As public administration staff will generally not be able to develop environmental protection requirements for products and services themselves, a sensible and efficient way is to use the eco-label criteria. This training script shows ways in which criteria from quality labels or quality labels can be integrated into tender documents themselves.
