The City of Aalborg (Denmark) has established a new innovative approach to buying playgrounds. Aalborg has developed innovative circular award criteria, which encourage the use of natural features and circular playground equipment. This guidance is written by ICLEI in cooperation with Aalborg within the Circular PP project and provides you with key outcomes and first hand experiences from Aalborg.

GPP Case Study: The Romanian Ministry of Environment and the National Agency for Public Procurement have provided guidelines for procurers by defining a number of criteria that can be applied by public authorities. The criteria aim to reduce GHG emissions and the environmental impact of the goods and services procured.

ICLEI works together with the Belgian Federal Institute for Sustainable Development (FISD) to support public buyers to help create better working conditions and protect the rights of workers and communities through ethical purchasing practices. The working groups runs throughout 2021, with the aim to create a space for leading big public buyers to exchange, take stock, discuss and identify actions towards a next-generation ethical procurement of IT.

Results and lessons learned from a circular furniture procurement pilot in Malmö (Sweden).

Between 2017 and 2020, Aalborg (Denmark, Malmö (Sweden), and Smiltene and Pļaviņas (Latvia) piloted innovative new approaches to buying circular goods and services as part of the Circular PP project. Their experiences have been collected in this report, which provides a highly useful guide for any other public buyers interested in trying out circular procurement. A summary version is also available.

This Implementation Plan is the collective vision of the GLA Group’s Functional Bodies, supported by the GLA Group Central Responsible Procurement Team (CRPT). This document has been developed in collaboration with key stakeholders from these organisations. It sets out shared ambitions and common aspirations, while allowing some organisations to exceed these and share best practice in specific RP Policy areas.
