The project is focused on supporting the implementation of good practice relating to the role of the public sector in stimulating innovation in partner regions. In particular, the project will help businesses, primarily SMEs, to bring innovative products and services to the market more quickly.

The project sets out to foster transnational cooperation, development and implementation of better policies and instruments regarding Green Public Procurement, Waste Management and Internationalisation of eco-innovative SMEs.

The Eco-Innovation Observatory functions as a platform for the structured collection and analysis of an extensive range of eco-innovation information, gathered from across the European Union. It is a 3-year initiative financed by DG Environment under the CIP programme.

An initiative run by the European Commission, DG Environment, aimed at encouraging the development of new eco-solutions. Current priority areas are: materials recycling and recycling processes; sustainable building products; food and drink sector; Water efficiency, treatment and distribution; Greening business.

Build Up is the main European web portal for energy efficient construction. Established by the European Commission in 2009 it contains, news, case studies, publications and tools, targetted at all relevant stakeholder groups, including public authorities.
