Procurement for innovation in the EU water sector

Are you a water practitioner in a public authority looking for new solutions to manage your water services more effectively and efficiently? Are you a public procurer investigating ways and means to take innovative solutions on board? Or are you working in a water business interested in learning more about the demand for your products in the public domain?

The partners of the Water PiPP project - led by the International Office for Water and funded by the European Commission – are pleased to invite you to their final conference ‘Empowering public procurement for innovation in the EU water sector’ taking place in Zaragoza (Spain) on 9 and 10 November 2016. The event will bring together some 80 participants from the public and private water sector to explore innovation procurement from the angle of procurement practices, sector policies and opportunities for businesses.

WORKSHOP FOR ENERGY SECTOR PUBLIC PROCURERS

The eafip Workshop for public procurers in the Energy sector (ministries, regional and local authorities, agencies, public utility entities, etc.) will be held in the [url="http://www.europahuset.eu/index.asp"]Europahuset[/url] in Stockholm, Sweden on the 23rd November 2016. The aim of the event will be to highlight the benefits of innovation procurement of ICT solutions through the [url="https://ec.europa.eu/digital-agenda/en/pre-commercial-procurement"]Pre-Commercial Procurement[/url] (PCP) and [url="https://ec.europa.eu/digital-agenda/en/public-procurement-innovative-solutions"]Public Procurement of Innovative Solutions[/url] (PPI) approaches across Europe, with a particular focus on the framework of exploration, extraction, production, transport and distribution of energy. The workshop will feature:
  • Presentation / networking discussion on the EU funding opportunities for PCP and PPI (in the framework of the Horizon 2020 calls).
  • Presentation of case examples and lessons learned.
  • Presentation / networking discussion on the [url="http://eafip.eu/toolkit/"]eafip Toolkit[/url] (aimed to support you in preparing your innovation procurement).
The workshop is open to public contracting authorities who have a unique chance to openly discuss unmet procurement needs, innovation concepts, project ideas, and much more. All procurers have an opportunity to briefly present their ideas / plan / projects in the parallel sessions. This event is free of charge and it will be held in English. Sustainable City Development 2016 - Procura+ Awards Ceremony

Taking place in ICLEI Member city Malmö (Sweden) from 30 November – 2 December 2016, the Sustainable City Development 2016 Conference will examine how European cities can work towards putting the UN’s 17 new Sustainable Development Goals into practice.

The aim of the event is to become a meeting point for researchers and practitioners to discuss and co-create new ideas and solutions. Over the course of three days, the conference will gather politicians and practitioners from local and regional governments, representatives from European and international institutions, members of the research community, and business leaders.

The programme for the conference offers the opportunity to choose between a variety of round table discussions, dialogue seminars and technical visits within the city of Malmö. Registration for the event closes on 15 November.

The 2016 edition of the prestigious Procura+ Awards will be held at the conference. Winners will be invited to collect their trophies at a ceremony held on 30 November. For an overview of the nominees, visit the Procura+ website.
