Webinar: Sustainable Public Procurement (SPP) and the Circular Economy

The webinar will take place the 13 March at 2:30 - 4:00 p.m and will be organized by REBus with ECAP, and hosted by ICLEI– Local Governments for Sustainability.

The objectives of the webinar are to introduce the concept of Circular Procurement through best practice examples selected from the project REBus, report on the work of the European Commission in this area and the priorities for the next years, and to present activities of the 10YFP on SPP Working Group 4c "Promoting Resource Efficient Business Models and Circular Economy".

Finally, Barbara van Offenbeek of Rijkswaterstaat will be reporting on the cases studies in the textile sector from project REBus and ECAP.

EASME is organising 3 webinars on procurement of energy efficient solutions on Wednesday 22 March 2017. €20 million of funding is available

Horizon 2020 supports the procurement of energy efficient solutions and the realisation of energy efficiency projects by funding Public Procurement of Innovative Solutions (including parts of purchasing costs), Project Development Assistance, development and roll-out of innovative financing schemes and making the energy efficiency market investible. Applications for funding are open until 7 June 2017.

PPI4Waste Workshop for innovative procurement in waste management

The PPI4Waste workshop for Innovative Procurement (PPI) in Waste management for innovative procurement, organised by ICLEI and KOINNO, will take place in Frankfurt on 29 March 2017 from 10:00 until 15:00.

The PPI4Waste project aims to achieve resource efficiency, sustainable waste management and sustainable consumption throughout Europe by increasing innovative public procurement through networking, capacity building, and dissemination.

The workshop aims to discuss the latest PPI tools, present innovative examples related to innovation in public procurement and discuss the new proposed related legal framework. The language will be german.

Annual Conference on European Public Procurement Law 2017

The Annual Conference on European Public Procurement Law 2017 will take place the 30-31 of March 2017 in Trier, Germany. The event will bring together legal practitioners to discuss the latest legislative and jurisprudential developments.

Conference key topics will include the implementation of the new Directives and sectoral approach in the Member States, and the anticipated impact of TTIP, CETA and Brexit on EU public procurement.

The conference will also include a section focusing on the legal challenges and best practices in key sectors by Marc Gabriel, Chair of the European Public Procurement Group, Patricia Anna Eyckmans, Legal Advisor for the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and Philipp Tepper, Coordinator, Sustainable Economy and Procurement, ICLEI.
