Big Buyers Working Together annual event highlighted in special newsletter

The Public Procurement Gazette, the European Commission’s newsletter highlighting the latest developments in public procurement, devoted a special edition to the first annual event of the Big Buyers Working Together (BBWT) project. The annual event took place on 24 April in Brussels and offered a unique opportunity for sharing knowledge, forging connections, exchanging insights, and weaving the fabric of collaboration among public buyers on innovative and sustainable procurement.

The newsletter highlighted the discussions and panel sessions providing valuable insights into strategic and sustainable public procurement, as well as the successful kick-off of the first community of practice that connects sustainable public procurement to the New European Bauhaus.

Furthermore the newsletter provided an overview of the latest developments in each of the 10 communities of practice featured in BBWT, and of the the SPIN4EIC pitching session, during which Members of the BBWT CoPs presented their challenges and European Innovation Council (EIC) beneficiaries showcased their innovative digital solutions to an audience of prominent public buyers.

Future updates and events from the BBWT project will be shared via the Public Buyers Community Platform. More information about Big Buyers Working Together, and its Communities of Practice, can be found here. Public authorities interested in joining a Community of Practice, are encouraged to send an email to Big Buyers Working Together Secretariat, at big.buyers@eurocities.eu. Big Buyers Working Together is coordinated by Eurocities, ICLEI and BME on behalf of the European Commission.
